Hi, I'm ellihn

Inspired by the ever-changing societal culture, John Tan, also known as ellihn, strives to deliver an understanding of the complex reality we live in, as well as encourage realizations of the consequences of our actions through song writing. Often adopting a strong and bold stand in his works, ellihn delivers his thoughts unapologetically to his audience, preferring to make a point rather than please. Through his style, his audience is provided with a deeper insight to not only ellihn, but also themselves.

Hailing from traditional music backgrounds, ellihn makes use of the musical foundation gifted to him to execute his work and continues to hone his skills in Singapore Polytechnic's Diploma in Music and Audiotechnology. While focusing on his studies in school, he also partakes in external projects such as working on audio for visuals for clients as well as holds minor managerial roles in the music industry such as providing artist management services for up and coming indie artist, WHILE.

Through these experiences, ellihn is now able to fully utilise his own skills and fully immerse himself in his art, of which is songwriting stands out. His newest project “Alright” serves as a testament to what he has learnt so far, featuring simple, yet meaningful lyrics and melodies.
